A climbing succulent native to seasonally dry tropical scrub across Africa, Arabia, and South Asia, with quadrangular stems that store water. It wants gritty, fast-draining mix and tolerates neglect far better than wet feet; water only when the soil is dry all the way through and the stems begin to look slightly drawn. Give it bright light and support to climb, easing off sharply in cool or dim months.

Cissus verticillata is a climbing liana from the Vitaceae family, native to a broad sweep of tropical and subtropical Americas where it scrambles through warm, humid forest margins.
