A hardy yucca native to the arid grasslands and rocky soils of Texas and northeastern Mexico, built to store water and endure drought. Give it the brightest, sunniest spot you have and gritty, fast-draining mix; water deeply only once the soil has dried out completely, letting at least the top several inches go bone dry first. It tolerates dry indoor air well and rots quickly if kept wet.
