Sinningia speciosa is a tuberous geophyte from southeastern Brazil, storing water in an underground tuber that rots easily if kept wet. Give it bright indirect light and let the top inch of mix dry before watering, watering around the tuber rather than over the crown. During winter the foliage may die back as the tuber rests, at which point water should be reduced sharply.
