Selenicereus anthonyanus is a succulent epiphytic cactus from the forests of southern Mexico, growing on tree branches with flattened, deeply notched stems rather than in soil. As an epiphyte it wants fast-draining, airy mix and good airflow, and its succulent stems store water, so let the top inch or two of mix dry before watering again. It tolerates brief dryness far better than sitting wet, which causes rot.
