Selaginella kraussiana is a creeping spikemoss from the moist, shaded forest floors of equatorial and southern Africa, where it forms a low mat in steady damp and deep shade. Unlike most houseplants it does not tolerate drying out — keep the mix consistently moist but never waterlogged, watering when the surface just begins to feel less than damp. It needs low, filtered light away from any direct sun, and genuinely high humidity to keep its fine foliage from crisping.
