Ravenea rivularis is a Madagascan palm that grows along rivers and streambeds, so it tolerates more moisture than most palms but still rots if left standing in water. Give it bright, indirect light and water when the top inch or two of mix has dried, allowing excess to drain freely. It is sensitive to cold and dry air; average household humidity is acceptable, though it appreciates more.
