Philodendron brandtianum is a tropical climbing aroid from the humid forests of Bolivia, Brazil, and Colombia, where it ascends trunks rooted in fast-draining leaf litter. Give it bright indirect light and a chunky, well-drained mix, and let the top inch or two of the mix dry before watering again. It appreciates a support to climb and steady warmth, but its roots rot if left sitting wet.
