Pachira glabra is a tree from the seasonally moist forests of southern and southeastern Brazil, with a swollen trunk base that stores water and makes it prone to rot if kept wet. Give it a bright spot out of harsh direct sun, and let the top inch or two of mix dry before watering again. Err toward letting it run dry rather than staying soggy.
