Liriope spicata is a tough, grass-like rhizomatous geophyte from the temperate and subtropical woodlands of East Asia, where it grows as a spreading groundcover in dappled shade. Its fleshy rhizomes store water and resent staying soggy, so let the top inch or two of mix dry before watering again. It adapts to medium light and ordinary indoor humidity, and tolerates a wide range of conditions once established.
