Guide
The species-level account. Cultivar pages build on this and say where they differ.
Jasminum officinale is a scrambling shrub from the foothills and slopes of the Himalaya, Iran, and southwest Asia, where it climbs through other vegetation in bright, airy positions. Give it the brightest indirect light you can, with some gentle direct sun tolerated, and let the top inch of mix approach dry before watering again. It wants steady but not soggy moisture, so err toward the drier end and provide free-draining soil.
