Jasminum mesnyi is a scrambling, semi-evergreen shrub from the subtropical hills of south-central China and Vietnam, where it sprawls over open slopes in strong light. Give it the brightest spot available, ideally several hours of direct sun, and water when the top inch or two of mix has dried, letting it approach dryness between waterings rather than staying damp. It tolerates ordinary indoor humidity and wants free-draining soil, as standing wet at the roots invites rot.
