Guide
The species-level account. Cultivar pages build on this and say where they differ.
Howea forsteriana is a slow-growing palm from the subtropical islands off eastern Australia, where it grows as an understory and coastal tree tolerant of lower light. Give it bright indirect light and water when the top inch or two of mix has dried, letting it approach dryness between drinks since palms resent soggy roots and crown rot. It accepts ordinary household humidity but appreciates good airflow.
