Guide
The species-level account. Cultivar pages build on this and say where they differ.
A small rosette-forming succulent from the seasonally dry grasslands of southern Africa, storing water in its thick, ridged leaves. It wants gritty, fast-draining mix and deep but infrequent watering — let the soil dry out completely, watering only when the mix is dry all the way through. It tolerates bright light but is best in bright indirect light indoors to avoid scorching; it rots quickly if left sitting wet.
