Fatsia japonica is a broadleaf evergreen shrub from the cool, humid woodlands of Japan, Korea, and the Nansei-shoto, where it grows in shaded, moist understory. It prefers bright indirect light, even moisture, and protection from hot direct sun and cold drafts.
