Conophytum bilobum is a dwarf, water-storing succulent in the Aizoaceae, the family of southern African stone plants. Its swollen paired leaves hold their own reserve, so it wants a gritty, fast-draining mix and only occasional deep soakings — water when the mix has been fully dry for several days, and withhold entirely during its dormant rest period when the old leaf sheaths dry to a papery skin. Standing moisture rots it quickly, so err toward leaving it dry.
