Cattleya trianae is a pseudobulbous epiphyte from the forests of Colombia, growing on tree branches where its roots dry quickly between rains and never sit in standing water. Grow it in a coarse, fast-draining orchid mix or mounted, with good airflow, and water when the medium has dried and the pseudobulbs are firm but the roots have gone silvery — its water-storing pseudobulbs let it tolerate drying far better than staying wet. Give bright indirect light and steady humidity.
