Guide

The species-level account. Cultivar pages build on this and say where they differ.

Araucaria angustifolia is a large coniferous tree from the cool, humid subtropical highland forests of southern Brazil and neighbouring Argentina and Paraguay. Indoors it wants bright light and steady but moderate moisture; water when the top inch or two of mix has dried, and never leave the roots sitting wet. It prefers cooler temperatures and good airflow over heat and stagnant air.
